[this is good] What is it that you do, Zak? I've been embarrassed to admit for a while that I don't know what the letters after your last name mean....

Zak Klemmer, ACS, ALB

[this is good]

The letters are the awards that I have earned in Toastmasters: ACS Advanced Communicator Silver, which is the third speech award, ALB Advance Leader Bronze, is the second leadership award. I have some service projects to complete and I will earn my DTM Distinguished Toastmaster, which is the highest award in Toastmasters.

I am presently employed as a structural steel designer in the mining engineering business at Aker Solutions.

My plan for the near future includes conducting a Success and Leadership Seminar with my partners. Look for an announcement here in the near future.

This is wonderful.  Thanks for sharing.  I just finished a book on CD called "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne.  It is basically about all the things you can manifest in your life simply by your thoughts and it also stresses the powers of positive thinking.

I am favoriting this post.  Thanks for sending it to me.

Thanks for sharing this Zak.  I had just commented on this and it disappeared so this will be my second attempt.  :)

I just finished a book on CD called "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne.  It is basically about the importance of really keeping an eye on your thoughts because what you send out there is what you get back.  The main principle of the book focuses on the law of attraction and encourages one ot think positively about their goals and the things they would like.  The first item you have listed made me think of it.  Again, thanks for posting this.  I have favorited it.

[this is good] Thanks for the secrets, Zak. Did Bernie Madoff master all these? How about all the economists and brokers and bankers and mortgage hawkers who didn't see the recent collapse coming? Were they positive men of action?

Zak Klemmer, ACS, ALB

No, they drank the Kool-aide.

Sorry if my question was abrupt and on the rude side, but I have been seriously considering the important question of HOW DIFFERENT rules of behavior and success MUST BE to distinguish between people of substance and people who suck the blood of others. If one set of rules applies to all together, then it is likely NOT a very useful set of rules for those with morals. The number ten in your list is a subjective thing. Business people (f they are making money) REALLY DO THINK they are being honest, including most of the bankers who took billions in bailout money, most of the mortgage brokers who made millions selling bad mortgages, and most of the pyramid schemers who are less outrageous than Madoff. How many "successful" people have you known who can insist they are upright and decent while trying to suck the life out of others? I can recall many from my working and business days.

New rules are needed to clarify what the Kool-Aide is.

A very positive and interesting post.  You seem to already incorporate these things in your life, which is a wonderful thing.

I look forward to hearing about the seminar you plan on hosting.  It sounds like you practice what you preach :)

After many failures and much introspection. Getting to know one's self takes work and complete honesty.
