[Get your kicks on Route 66]
World's second greatest Deli- any trip to Los Angeles requires a visit to Canter's on Fairfax. JoAnne once worked at Purdential on Wilshire Blvd, Canter's was a favorite lunch venue.
My best friend from college John Davidson served two tours of duty in Viet Nam (1968-69). He has MS and lives at the V A Hospital in West Los Angeles.
Street scenes from Harry's Coffee Shop in La Jolla California.
Harrys Coffee Shop (since 1960) great food and service.
JoAnne (wife) and our daughter Alexis ording lunch at Harry's.
I missed taking photos Sat. July 4th afternoon and during fireworks at Marina del Rey due to a completly discharged battery. A few more photos of La Jolla Elementary School will be added later as I love mid-century Modern Architecture.
Wow looks like you had a great vacation...nice and cool I bet.

Very cold Sunday during fireworks in Marina del Rey- we huddled in a sleeping bag.

I can remember many a 4th of July in the SF Bay Area that fireworks were canceled due to fog.

[this is good] This looks like so much fun. I wondered why you put the pictures so small?

Working on the photos- they were taken on my cellphone and uploaded. Aren't computers fun? & sometimes confusing too.

Oh, yes. I know the feeling. I am very fortunate to now have a macbook pro, which has bluetooth. My cell phone has bluetooth. I kid you not...I bring up the picture or the video, lay the phone on the keyboard, and push send, and a box opens on my computer and I accept it, and just like that, I have the picture or video I took on the cell.
Before this computer, I could not ever get my pictures onto the computer unless I emailed them and went through a lot of trouble. I hope you get it figured out. Glad you had a nice trip.

Hello..Talking about nostalgia..The V.A. was almost daily for me..and took care of my medical needs for decades..W.L.A. both Wadsworth and Brentwood Hospitals..also out at Sepulveda..the old and new..I went there with a collapsed lung..(tension pneumothorax) before bldg. 500..(the big hospital building on the S. side of Wilshire) was built..in that time they were all Quantset huts on that side..AF..Navy..Marines and Army. Good attentive care at that time.
I spent years in LaJolla..living on Bonair Pl...Prospect S.Coast Blvd..and in the Murilands. I have lived in Hollywood and Beverly Hills so Canters excellence is known to me. You called up a lot of good memories..thanks for the post and photos..Peace Tony
